ABSTRACT : The flourish of development means all of the good sites are getting used up, leaving us with more challenging sites to choose from on which to build infrastructure. These sites place more demand on risk assessment and detailed soil structure interaction analysis to determine structural performance. Ground improvement offers good economical solutions to many of these risks without compromising long term performance of the structure. This presentation will detail some of the current improvement methods used in the industry using short case histories to showcase their application.
